Offered here
from the dougfinds collection of curated fashion, accessories, clothing,
collectibles, and unique gifts is this beautiful
original hand-colored limited edition etching titled The Buckboard by
noted American artist Carol Collette.
This authentic hand-pulled
copper plate etching is pencil signed by the artist, individually numbered 151/500,
and professionally framed by the respected Hadley Gallery.
Unlike offset
reproductions, each impression was created using an engraved copper plate
pressed into heavyweight paper under tremendous pressure, leaving the
distinctive embossed plate mark surrounding the image. Collectors recognize
this crisp indentation as one of the hallmarks of a genuine original etching.
After printing, Carol
Collette individually hand-applied watercolor accents to every print. The warm
amber and golden highlights were painted by hand, meaning no two examples are
perfectly identical—even within the same edition of 500.
The peaceful New England
farm scene features an antique buckboard wagon resting beside a weathered barn
beneath towering trees, perfectly capturing the quiet charm and rural character
for which Collette's work is admired.
This example remains
housed in its original custom gallery framing from The Hadley Gallery, complete
with the gallery label on the reverse. The custom mat includes elegant
hand-drawn yellow pinstripe accents that beautifully complement the artwork.
The rustic wood frame is
exceptionally well suited to the country subject matter and is included with
the artwork.
Approximate framed size:
27" x 21½"
