Offered here from the dougfinds collection of curated
fashion, accessories, clothing, collectibles, and unique gifts is this charming 1996
Byers' Choice Ltd. The Carolers Christmas Knickerbocker Santa figurine, a
wonderfully detailed example of traditional American holiday folk-art
craftsmanship.
This
delightful Christmas traveler is dressed for a chilly winter outing, wearing a
rich green coat trimmed with brown faux fur, a bright red vest with a delicate
gold-tone watch chain, brown trousers, cream-colored stockings, and black
shoes. His distinctive black fur hat and flowing white beard complete his
nostalgic, old-world appearance.
Perhaps his
most endearing feature is the collection of Christmas treasures he carries over
his shoulder. A generously filled fabric sack supports two miniature wrapped
gifts tied with red ribbon, accompanied by an adorable little brown teddy bear.
In his other hand, he carries a small curved ivory-colored accessory.
A
wonderful combination of character, craftsmanship, and Christmas nostalgia.

Byers'
Choice figurines are especially appreciated for their expressive faces,
traditional clothing, and individually crafted details. This 1996 example
captures the warmth and charm of an old-fashioned Christmas, from the tiny
teddy bear perched among the presents to the textured fabrics of his winter
clothing.
An appealing
addition to an established Byers' Choice Carolers collection, a vintage
Christmas display, or a nostalgic holiday mantel arrangement. His traditional
appearance also makes him a wonderful companion to Victorian-inspired Christmas
decorations.
