Offered here from the dougfinds collection of curated fashion, accessories, clothing, collectibles, and unique finds is this beautifully framed vintage coastal still-life art print attributed to American artist Peter Vieri Bianchi.

This wonderfully atmospheric composition brings together a collection of classic seaside objects in a muted palette of sea-glass blue, gray, cream, sand, coral and warm ochre.

At the center is a large glass bell jar or cloche containing a starfish, shells, coral and branching sea life, accompanied by an old-fashioned glass bottle, lidded vessel and a striking red-and-cream chambered shell.

The result is an unusually sophisticated piece of vintage coastal décor—nautical without being overly themed, and equally suited to a beach or shore home, cottage, traditional interior, gallery wall, study or collection of vintage decorative art.

The work is attributed to Peter Vieri Bianchi, whose artwork is known to have been commercially reproduced as lithographic decorative prints. Other documented vintage Bianchi lithographs survive today, including works marketed through Windsor Art Products.

PRINT & SURFACE

Close examination of the artwork reveals the regular fine dot structure associated with mechanical color reproduction, identifying this as a printed reproduction / offset lithographic work rather than an original painting.

The image is printed on a finely textured surface which gives the work a canvas-like appearance when viewed normally. The original artwork incorporated painterly effects including delicate highlights, layered colors and decorative crackle-style textures, all of which reproduce beautifully in the finished print.

CONDITION

Very good vintage decorative condition overall.

The artwork itself presents beautifully with attractive color and detail. The frame shows minor age/use wear, and the white mat has several scattered small age spots/discoloration marks, visible in the photographs.

Backing remains in place and the piece is equipped with a hanging fixture.

No attempt has been made to remove the artwork from its frame or disturb the existing backing.

A very attractive and somewhat unusual vintage Bianchi image whose coastal subject matter makes it equally appealing as collectible vintage art and sophisticated seaside décor.
