Offered here
from the dougfinds collection of curated fashion, accessories, clothing,
collectibles, and unique gifts is this wonderful pair of vintage Stangl
Pottery Sun Pebbles bowls, hand painted in one of those unmistakable 1970s
palettes that somehow manages to make mustard yellow, burnt orange, earthy
brown, olive green and warm cream all belong at the same table.
Produced from 1973 through 1978,
Sun Pebbles combines broad concentric bands of warm color with speckled
detailing and the wonderful little cluster of painted circular “pebbles” at the
center. Replacements identifies Sun Pebbles as a discontinued Stangl pattern
from this exact period.
And this is one of those vintage
patterns that doesn't need to spend the rest of its life sitting behind glass.
Fill the large bowl with a crisp green
salad, put olives, nuts, dip or a favorite side in the smaller bowl, and
suddenly those glorious harvest colors make perfect sense again. These were
made for a table — and together, they're ready to go back to one.

Detailed
Condition
Both bowls are in good vintage
pre-owned condition, particularly considering their approximately 50-year
age.
The smaller bowl has a small
nick/chip along the rim, visible in the photographs. There are light signs
of previous use and age, including minor surface/utensil wear and small
imperfections consistent with vintage pottery.
The undersides show expected contact
and shelf wear. The original backstamps remain clearly legible on both pieces.
No other significant chips or cracks
were noted during inspection.
Two wonderfully warm survivors from
the 1970s — equally at home completing a Stangl Sun Pebbles collection or
returning to service filled with something worth passing around the table.
Please review all photographs
carefully, as they are considered part of the description and provide the best
representation of this item's condition.
