Offered here from the dougfinds collection of curated fashion, accessories, clothing, collectibles, and unique gifts is this striking original folk art portrait painting signed “Ann Reid.”

A beautifully executed contemporary homage to 19th century American itinerant portraiture in the tradition of John Brewster Jr. and early Americana folk painting traditions.

The composition features a young girl in a vivid red dress holding a yellow shoe while standing with one shoe removed — a classic motif associated with early American folk portraiture and highly sought after by collectors of Americana and primitive art.

The painting possesses a wonderfully moody and sincere primitive aesthetic with strong visual references to early American naive portrait painting traditions while clearly maintaining a contemporary artistic voice.

Signed lower right “Ann Reid.”

Canvas measures approximately 20” x 24” and is mounted on an older Anco Bilt stretcher frame as shown.

An outstanding decorative and collectible piece for admirers of Americana, primitive portraiture, contemporary folk art, and eclectic interiors.
