fashion, accessories, clothing, collectibles, and unique gifts is this lovely antique 1881 Rogers Quadruple silverplate
three-piece serving set, pattern #5008.
This matched group
includes one creamer and two open sugar bowls, with all three pieces
carrying the same 1881 ROGERS / QUADRUPLE / NEW YORK / 5008 marking on
the underside.
The pieces share an
elegant rounded form with graceful handles and finely engraved floral and
scrolling decoration around the upper borders. The creamer features a broad
pouring spout, while the two matching open sugar bowls are double handled.
The inclusion of two
matching sugar bowls is particularly interesting. Multiple-sugar
arrangements are known among larger antique table services, and the matching
construction, decoration, maker's marks and #5008 pattern numbers indicate
these three pieces belong together rather than being an assembled group of
unrelated Rogers pieces.
Approximate Measurements:
• Creamer: approx. 6" overall from spout through handle; approx. 2¾"
high
• Sugar Bowls: approx. 7" overall handle to handle; approx. 2¾" high
Condition: Antique pre-owned condition with naturally developed
patina, tarnish, oxidation, surface scratching, spotting and areas of
age/use-related silverplate wear. Interiors show substantial darkening and
oxidation consistent with age and use. Engraved decoration remains attractive
and readily visible. The pieces have intentionally been left in as-found,
unpolished condition so the next owner may decide whether to retain the aged
patina or polish them. Please examine all photographs closely as they are
