Offered
here from the dougfinds collection of curated fashion, accessories, clothing,
collectibles, and antiques is this beautiful vintage Pristine England ceramic
teapot, finished in a rich, deep cobalt blue glaze.
A wonderfully
classic piece of English teaware, this handsome pot features the traditional rounded
globe form associated with British tea service—a generously rounded body
designed to provide plenty of room for tea and hot water to circulate—paired
with a gracefully curved spout, large loop handle and matching vented lid.
And in this case, “Pristine”
isn't merely a description of its remarkable condition—it's the maker.
The underside
carries the authentic impressed PRISTINE / ENGLAND pottery mark.
Pristine Pottery operated in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and was
particularly known for its English teaware, producing classic teapot forms in
numerous sizes and an unusually broad range of colors.
This example is
finished entirely in an especially striking deep cobalt/navy blue high-gloss
glaze, creating a wonderfully simple monochromatic presentation. There is
no applied decoration, pattern or gilding—the color, traditional form and
reflective glaze are the design.

The glossy cobalt
exterior remains deep, bright and highly reflective, while the interior is
remarkably clean and shows little indication that this teapot ever saw regular
tea service.

There is one
very small flea-bite/nick along the upper inner rim, shown in the

lid is installed.
The unglazed foot
ring shows the normal light shelf/contact marks expected from a vintage ceramic
piece.

for a collector of English pottery, British teaware, cobalt blue ceramics,
or simply for someone looking for a wonderfully traditional English teapot in a
bold, minimalist color.
