Offered here from the dougfinds collection of curated vintage, collectible, decorative and unique finds is this beautiful BTR Ceramics hand-thrown stoneware serving bowl.

This substantial studio pottery piece has an especially striking form, combining the symmetry of a wheel-thrown bowl with an organically manipulated, undulating rim. Two pronounced dips in the rim create a flowing sculptural profile and give the bowl a completely different appearance depending upon the viewing angle.

The glaze is the star of the show. A rich reactive blue-green glaze moves from moss and emerald tones through deep peacock blue and charcoal, with warm amber-brown breaking beautifully along the raised rim and edges. Natural glaze movement and variation throughout give the piece tremendous depth.

The interior carries the same rich glaze treatment, while the exterior displays visible throwing lines and dramatic darker glaze runs that reinforce its handmade studio character.

The bowl rests on a raised foot ring with exposed natural stoneware along the bottom edge. The underside bears the BTR Ceramics maker's mark, surrounded by a decorative impressed dotted treatment.
