Smooth Fitness EVO FX25 OEM 2.5 HP DC Treadmill Drive Motor – GMCD105-1 – TESTED

Offered here is the original drive motor removed from my personally owned Smooth Fitness EVO FX25 treadmill. I purchased the treadmill new and have been its original and sole owner, so the history of this motor and the donor machine is known.

This is not an unknown motor pulled from an untested salvage treadmill. Before deciding to dismantle the machine, I spent considerable time troubleshooting a condition in which the treadmill powered normally and the console accepted increasing speed commands, but the walking belt would not run.

Testing & Diagnosis

During troubleshooting:

• The treadmill powered normally and the console/display operated.
• Speed settings could be increased normally at the console.
• The speed-control signal from the console was measured and verified to increase as commanded.
• The wiring harness between the console and lower electronics was continuity-tested.
• The drive motor armature was resistance-tested at approximately 0.7 ohm at rest.
• The motor shaft turned freely by hand.
• Most importantly, the drive motor was observed running during troubleshooting, confirming motor operation.
• The treadmill's failure to provide normal commanded drive was ultimately isolated to the lower motor-control electronics, rather than the drive motor.

I also have video showing the donor treadmill powered and operating at the console immediately prior to disassembly, including the display accepting increasing speed settings while the motor was not being properly driven by the treadmill's controller.

The testing performed confirmed that this motor is 100% operational.

The motor is being sold with the drive pulley/flywheel, original mounting bracket, wiring and associated mounting/tension hardware shown in the photographs. Please use the photos to confirm exactly what is included.

An additional faded red factory marking/code is present on the motor housing; it appears to read approximately 200611 or 209611, but I cannot positively verify every digit, so I am not representing that marking as a model or serial number. Please refer to the close-up photograph.

Compatibility

This motor was removed specifically from a Smooth Fitness EVO FX25.

The motor model number GMCD105-1 may have been used in additional Smooth Fitness equipment; however, I have not independently verified interchangeability with other models. Please compare the model number, electrical specifications, mounting configuration, pulley and connectors shown in the photographs with your original motor before purchasing.

30-Day Verification Period

I normally offer a 14-day return period on my used merchandise, but I'm extending the return period on this motor to 30 days so the buyer has adequate time to install it and independently verify operation in their machine.

The motor was tested and confirmed operational before removal. As with any used replacement component, correct installation and compatibility with the buyer's equipment are the buyer's responsibility.

Removed from my personal Smooth Fitness EVO FX25 treadmill and documented immediately before disassembly. Photos and video show the original donor machine and its condition prior to removal.
