Offered here from the dougfinds
collection of curated fashion, accessories, clothing, collectibles, and unique
gifts is this authentic
antique cast iron sad iron paired with its decorative Enterprise Manufacturing
Co., Philadelphia cast iron trivet.
The trivet features the
attractive openwork "Enterprise" design with three integral
feet to elevate the hot iron from tabletops or work surfaces. The accompanying
solid cast iron sad iron is unmarked, a fairly common occurrence with early
household irons, and displays a pleasing aged patina that complements
the trivet beautifully.
Whether displayed in a
farmhouse kitchen, primitive collection, laundry room, or antique iron
collection, this is a wonderful example of late 19th to early 20th century
American household history.
