One of Westmoreland's best-known and most collectible milk glass patterns, Paneled Grape features richly molded clusters of grapes, trailing vines and leaves set within gently scalloped panels. This charming basket combines that classic pattern with an unusual split handle, scalloped rim and matching scalloped pedestal-style base.

The underside bears the faint but identifiable interlocking “WG” Westmoreland maker's mark, providing an important identifying feature for the piece.

WESTMORELAND PANELED GRAPE

Westmoreland Glass Company of Grapeville, Pennsylvania became particularly renowned for its high-quality opaque milk glass during the mid-20th century.

Its Paneled Grape line was introduced during the late 1940s and became one of the company's most recognizable and successful patterns. The familiar intertwined W/G trademark was established during this same late-1940s period and became the company's classic identifying mark.
