This is not your typical pet store collar.

The collar is constructed from three braided strands decorated with beautifully engraved silver-tone cylindrical tube beads separated by polished spacer beads and vivid turquoise-colored accent beads, creating a classic Western/Southwestern look.

During inspection, the decorative fiber wraps at each end were closely examined. The exposed fibers exhibit the characteristics of natural animal hair rather than synthetic material. While the exact species cannot be confirmed, the collar has the appearance commonly associated with artisan horsehair tack and accessories. Rather than overstate what cannot be proven, I'm simply presenting exactly what I observed and allowing collectors and horse enthusiasts to draw their own conclusions.

The engraved tube beads feature an attractive geometric and scroll motif reminiscent of Western tack and equestrian craftsmanship. They appear to be cast silver-tone decorative components and show an attractive aged patina from normal use.

The collar is finished with a genuine ITW Nexus side-release buckle, one of the industry's best-known manufacturers of premium molded hardware, along with welded metal rings for leash attachment.

Overall length measures approximately 17 inches tip-to-tip and the decorative center section measures approximately 1¼ inches wide, giving this collar an impressive presence on medium to larger dogs.
