This wonderfully nostalgic English pottery piece features a colorful cross-stitch / needlework sampler-style scene depicting a couple seated together at their dining table — complete with their little black cat joining the family scene.

Above them appears the familiar phrase:

“GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY BREAD”

The central sampler-style artwork is surrounded by scrolling floral and vine decoration and finished with an attractive gold-toned floral border around the interior rim.

CONDITION
Excellent vintage display condition.

The colorful central design remains exceptionally bright, crisp and attractive, with the intricate sampler imagery retaining excellent definition.

The decorative gold floral border also presents beautifully with remarkably strong surviving detail.

There are no observed chips, cracks or repairs.

The plate exhibits extensive fine age-related glaze crazing throughout, visible across both the front and reverse surfaces. This creates the attractive fine spiderweb appearance characteristic of many older glazed earthenware pieces and is clearly shown in the photographs.

The underside retains a clear original black printed maker's mark reading:
