Made in Lisbon, Maine by Carville Ceramics, this sturdy ceramic mug features a beautifully rendered black-and-white moose standing in shallow water with a mountain landscape in the background. The artwork is signed S. Huston '94, giving the piece additional appeal to collectors of regional Maine pottery and wildlife memorabilia.

The underside carries the original Carville Ceramics, Lisbon, ME 04250 maker's mark. Carville Ceramics operated as a respected Maine pottery studio during the 1980s and 1990s, and pieces have become increasingly desirable since the studio closed.
